With our foundation in 1872 we are one of the oldest medical universities in Japan.
The department of medicine is characterized by a familiar atmosphere, only about 100 students are admitted every year.
Because of our small scale we are able to give detailed attention to our education program and use this as an advantage to foster doctors and medical researchers from a world top level.
The nursing school dates back to 1889 when a training institution for midwives was established.
We continue its long history by educating nursing professionals with a well-balanced program of practical skills and knowledge.
