On 23rd of Sep, 18 international students joined “Takashimaya Back Stage Tour”.

After we visited shops and saw people preparing before their opening, there was a lecture of department store industry and omotenashi culture(Japanese hospitality).

We also had a mini-training session of basic skills for service industry, such as bowing and terms used in service industry “irasshai mase (May I help you?)” “Moushiwake gozaimasen(I am very sorry)” and wrapping products!

There was also a talk by international staff from China.

They told what they are excited about working at Takashimaya and also what they feel difficult about working in service industry.

Moreover, there were  some tips of successful job-hunting in Japan. We learned so many things in one day and it was such a productive moment!
