Learn cutting-edge IT technology in the ancient capital of Japan, Kyoto!
2024.02.29
In recent years, IT has been rapidly advancing and keeping up with this trend has become an issue in Japan due to the shortage of IT personnel, which strongly increases the demand for employees in the IT field. Due to this reason, many companies are actively recruiting both Japanese and non-Japanese for IT-related jobs such as system engineers and programmers, as long as they are talented and have good skills. Among other Japanese cities, Kyoto also has many universities and vocational schools where international students can enroll that wish to study IT related subjects. If you are interested in IT and would like to find the perfect school for you, please tag along.
What exactly do you study in the IT related courses?
When someone wishes to study information technology (IT) at university, they usually enroll in an informatics department, such as Information Science (jouhoukou gakubu), Science and Engineering (rikou gakubu), Engineering (kou gakubu) and so on. Informatics refers to the study of a broad range of subjects related to “information,” including how information is created and communicated; and how collected data is processed and utilized. These above-mentioned studies can be separated into 3 different categories. The first, humanities related knowledge, includes information ethics and law. The second, science related knowledge, entails basic mathematical subjects such as statistics and applied mathematics. Finally, software knowledge, which includes the study of programming and algorithms.
For those that wish to pursue IT fields that require creative skills such as games and design, it might be possible to study at a university of arts. If you have a specific job in mind and want to learn highly specialized skills in a program that suits your career goals, a technical school is a good option.
Let us begin by introducing some schools in Kyoto where you can study IT-related subjects!
