Part-time job hunting for international students: Preparation and points to keep in mind

⑤ When you quit your part-time job

You may not be able to continue your part-time job if you change schools, move, or return to your home country. When this happens, first consult with the person in charge at your part-time job. If possible, consult with your supervisor one month before quitting. When quitting, make sure to communicate properly with your part-time job and follow the quitting procedures.

I believe that working part-time is one of the most valuable experiences I gained as an international student. By working with Japanese people, my Japanese language skills improved, and I gained a better understanding of the Japanese society. No matter what job you do, there are many things you can learn that can’t be learned at school. Go for it: take on the challenge of working part-time in Japan!
